Kenny Westrope Wins Night One in Huron

Fort Worth, TX (September 1, 2010) - Kenny Westrope won the first night of the 2010 Red Wilk Construction CBR Bull Bash after riding both of his bulls and finishing with 177 points. He rode Wyatt Earp in the long round for 85.5 points which tied him for the lead heading into the Championship Round. Westrope picked Double Scoop and rode him for 91.5 points to secure the victory. The cowboy from Mississippi returned to the CINCH CBR Tour presented by Mahindra Tractors for the first time since February, and he made the most of it. He earned the winner's check and will also make a significant move in the 2010 standings.

On a night where the bulls dominated for the most part, Westrope was one of three cowboys who stayed perfect. Jarrod Craig finished in second with 173.5 points, and Bronson Butcher finished third with 168 points. The top five was rounded out by Steve Woolsey (88) and Bradley Harris (87.5). Both Woolsey and Harris drew back into the Championship Round and took full advantage of it.

The first night in Huron was also highlighted by a bull team competition. The Dakota Rodeo/Struve team took home top honors and the $11,500 first-place check. The winning team consisted of Mean Dean, Country Time, and Hot Blooded. The bull of the event was Double Scoop who is owned by Cooper/Scruggs. The high-marked bull was Marmit who is owned by Denny McCoy.

The first night in Huron was very exciting, and the second night should be much of the same. Keep checking CBRBull.com for key match-ups, results, recaps, etc.
